Jesus By the Willows

Jesus by the willows
cools his neck with the blue, blue
water, his fingers bleed with splinters,
Jesus, master carpenter, Jesus weaves
baskets for the babies, Jesus, five-foot-ten
and-a-half, Jesus fair-haired and ruddy,
Jesus the Judahite, Jesus with the
brown beard and blue, blue eyes,
Jesus drinks, then takes up an osier,
Jesus weaves baskets for the babies,
for the millions and millions of babies.

Thanks for checking out my poem.

Did I tell you I wrote a novel? You can read it here for free, or get it for your e-reader on iBooks, Amazon or Kobo. Or you can just say you read the book, and donate five bucks down below. Go on.
